I built Riffle because I kept losing my own music.

I'm an amateur electronic music producer. For years my best ideas lived as voice memos and half-finished bounces in folders I could never really search. Riffle is the tool I wished I'd had — and the third thing I've made for people who love music.

I make electronic music at night, around a day job. Nothing released to speak of — just years of loops, sketches, and 2 a.m. ideas hummed into a phone. If you make music too, you know the folder: hundreds of files called Untitled 147.wav, and somewhere in there is the one riff you've been chasing all week.

I could always remember how a part sounded — the shape of a melody, the mood of a pad. But a filename and a date hold none of that, so the good ideas just sank to the bottom of the folder and stayed there.

Riffle is the fix I wanted for myself: point it at the recordings you already have and find any of them by sound — hum it, play it, describe it, or ask for more like one you're holding. It runs entirely on your machine, nothing is uploaded, and it works offline, because your unreleased work should stay yours.
