Privacy Policy
Riffle is built and operated by Shmuel Duan, an individual based in Israel ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we do — and mostly don't — collect when you use the Riffle app and the website at riffle.fm. Questions: shmuel.duan@live.com.
The short version
The Riffle desktop app runs entirely on your device. Your recordings and everything Riffle derives from them never leave your computer. The website collects only what's needed to start a trial and take payment, and we don't sell your data or run advertising trackers.
The Riffle app collects nothing about your audio
- All analysis and search run locally on your machine. Your audio is never uploaded, and the app works offline.
- There is no in-app account or login.
- We don't collect usage analytics, telemetry, or your recordings, titles, or library contents.
- The app contacts the network only to verify a license and to download its analysis models the first time. Neither sends us your audio.
What the website collects
- Trial email. When you start a free trial, you give us an email address so a license key can be sent to you. We use it only for that and related service messages.
- Bot protection. The signup form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to block automated abuse. Cloudflare processes limited technical signals to confirm you're human; see Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Hosting logs. Our host (Vercel) and edge provider (Cloudflare) keep standard request logs (e.g. IP address, timestamp) to operate and secure the site.
- We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Payments
Purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy as our Merchant of Record. When you buy or start a trial, Lemon Squeezy collects and processes your billing details, handles taxes, and sends receipts and your license key. Their handling of that data is governed by the Lemon Squeezy privacy policy. We receive order and license information from them, but not your full payment card details.
Who we share data with
We don't sell your personal data. We share the limited data above only with the service providers that make Riffle work: Lemon Squeezy (payments), Cloudflare (bot protection, edge), and Vercel (website hosting). Each processes it on our behalf to provide the service.
Data retention
We keep your trial/license email for as long as needed to provide and support your license, and Lemon Squeezy retains order records as required for tax and accounting. You can ask us to delete information we hold about you at any time.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to object to its processing. To exercise any of these, email shmuel.duan@live.com and we'll respond.
Children
Riffle is not directed to children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product evolves. We'll change the "last updated" date above when we do; material changes will be noted on this page.
